چکیده

First measurements of cross sections for isolated prompt photon production in deep inelastic ep scattering have been made using the ZEUS detector at the HERA electron-proton collider using an integrated luminosity of 121 pb. A signal for isolated photons in the transverse energy and rapidity ranges 5 < E T < 10GeV and −0.7 < η < 0.9 was observed for virtualities of the exchanged photon of Q > 35GeV. Cross sections are presented for inclusive prompt photons and for those accompanied by a single jet in the range E T ≥ 6GeV and −1.5 ≤ η < 1.8. Calculations at order ααs describe the data reasonably well. The ZEUS Collaboration S. Chekanov, M. Derrick, D. Krakauer, J.H. Loizides, S. Magill, S. Miglioranzi, B. Musgrave, J. Repond, R. Isolated photons in deep inelastic scattering.

Photon radiation at large transverse momenta at colliders is a detailed probe of hard interaction dynamics. The isolated photon production cross section in deep inelastic scattering was measured recently by the ZEUS experiment, and found to be considerably larger than theoretical predictions obtained with widely used event generators. To investigate this discrepancy, we perform a dedicated part...

Inclusive Prompt Photon Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering at H1 Carsten Schmitz on Behalf of the H1 Collaboration

Results are presented on the inclusive production of isolated prompt photons in deep inelastic scattering with a four-momentum transfer of Q > 4 GeV. The cross sections are measured for the transverse momentum range of the photons 3 < E T < 10 GeV and for the pseudorapidity range of the photons −1.2 < η < 1.8. They are measured differentially as a function of E T and η . The results are compare...

Resolved Photons and Bfkl-type Signatures in Deep Inelastic Scattering

The concept of resolved virtual photons in addition to direct deep inelastic ep scattering is used to simulate the 2 + 1 jet-rate and the forward jet cross section, which cannot be described by direct LO/NLO processes. With standard DGLAP evolution of the parton densities of the virtual photon and the proton the HERA data can be described, provided a sufficiently large scale for the hard scatte...

Measuring the Photon Fragmentation Function at HERA

The production of final state photons in deep inelastic scattering originates from photon radiation off leptons or quarks involved in the scattering process. Photon radiation off quarks involves a contribution from the quark-to-photon fragmentation function, corresponding to the non-perturbative transition of a hadronic jet into a single, highly energetic photon accompanied by some limited hadr...

Production of Isolated Photons in Deep Inelastic Scattering

We present here the predictions obtained from a calculation of the inclusive isolated photon production cross section in deep inelastic scattering. The results are compared with the cross section measurement of the ZEUS collaboration and found in good agreement with all aspects of it. Furthermore, a way of measuring the quark-to-photon fragmention function in DIS is also briefly outlined.
